Q: I am looking for a king box spring/mattress set that will accomodate my husband and myself. We are both 6' tall and 250 and 300lbs. We have a Best Mattress on a bed in our guest room and love it, but want a king in our room now. We want something that has great support and no sagging.
A: Glad you like the Best Mattress set you have now. Since you seem to like the comfort level of that model-- email or call me with the model name on our label and I will make a suggestion based on which model you have now. Call 803-791-0880 or email and we will get back to you asap

Q: father in law just had spinal surgery, what mattress is best recommended for him?
A: Its impossible to make a suggestion without knowing more details like --- his age---weight and if there are any other physical problems involved. I will say however that a two sided turnable mattress with a plush cushioned surface ( not a pillow top ) and a firm supportive center section seems to be one that a number of our clients with similar issues have done well with. Good Luck and let us know if we can help

Q: I am 5'7" and 320lbs. I have arthritis in my back along with degenerative disc disease and 2 bulging discs. What mattresses would be the best for me? Currently I am sleeping on an old innerspring mattress and can barely move in the morning so I am looking to replace them. Any suggestions?
A: Well there are several things to address. Because of your height and weight you need something that will hold your spine in a straight line but it can not be so hard that is pushes against you bulging discs. You may want to try our Optima firm product. It has no springs to push against your spine but it is firm enough to support your weight. go to my web sight and see the pressure study. www.bestmattress.net

Q: what is the difference between queen and super queen mattress sets
A: The Super Queen is 6 inches wider than a regular queen. We have developed a special support which allows it to be used on a regular queen head and footboard or freestanding metal frame. We also have a great source for sheets for the super queen. Call us for more information . 803-791-0881

Q: I have shoulder ache problems. Had rotator cuff surgery 2 months ago and I am a side sleeper. Suggestions!!!
A: It sounds like you have skin pressure issue with your shoulder . Like you I am a side sleeper and developed a rotator cuff problem a few years ago . I found that a softer more body conforming latex foam mattress eliminated my discomfort . For me it offered more pressure relief than memory foam models . Try a latex mattress at a store near you or call us as we ship to all 50 states.

Q: i am looking for a spring mattress to fit in a super size single water bed frame. can you help
A: Yes we can build any size

Q: I have had to sleep in a recliner for 2 years because when I lay on my sides in my bed my hip pain is so extreme i cant sleep at all. What can I do or sleep on so I can sleep back in my bed?
A: You need to look into an adjustable bed with a softer mattress that doesn't have springs. Depending on your size you may want a Latex because they can be firm or soft.

Q: Can I use an old box springs with a new mattress? Bed is Queen size thanks
A: It is always recommended to get both because it is the box spring that can make the set firmer or softer. And if your box spring has springs in it they too can get bent and cause the new mattress to start sagging faster than normal.

Q: Hello, My husband and I have a pillow top mattress that is almost 9 years old. Over the last two years he has said he can't get comfy in the bed very often. He is 5'10" about 190 and I am 5'8" 250. Over the past year I have noticed indentations where we both sleep and since I weigh more he says he seems to roll to my side of the bed sometimes as if he is sinking towards me since he is lighter. I bought an additional pillow top that goes on like a fitted sheet and that seemed to help for about 6 months but now he is back to not getting much sleep due to lack of comfort on our mattress. Do we need a memory foam mattress or is it just time to purchase a new one?
A: You need to get a new mattress it sound like you have a one sided mattress that can not be flipped. They can get body impressions in a very short period of time. And do not get a pillow top it too will get body impressions because the cover can get loose.

Q: I have a 6-7 year pillowtop memory foam mattress, which is sinking. Also, I'm having leg joint pain and back stiffness. I'm uncertain, what kind of mattress I need. I'm not crazy, about the Visco memory foam mattress. What type of mattress do I need? Should I consider a latex mattress? Does all Visco memory foam sink? Thank you.
A: You need a Latex set.

Q: We are looking for a quality mattress that can be flipped
A: Go to our web sight www.bestmattress.net and start at the Ultima and work your way up in price the more $ it is the softer the mattress set. The cost goes up because we are adding more foam.

Q: what is the best mattress for a tall (5-10") 13-year old boy?
A: Go to our web sight and look at the Ultima mattress set it is two sided so it can be flipped and is reinforced on the edges. Even young boys can't break this model down and it has a good feel it comes in firm and med firm.

Q: I am 5'10" and 180lbs and my husband is 6'4" and 240 lbs and we are both 60 and mostly side sleepers. Both of us experience typical aches and pains and I frequently wake up with sore hips and some stiffness. We currently have a sleep comfort bed. Recently we stayed at a hotel and slept on a serta perfect sleeper presidential suite mattress and although initially I thought it was a bit too firm, the next morning I woke with no hip pain and almost pain free. Reading your website, I noticed that you seem to recommend the memory foam system for side sleepers. Now I am confused about what type of mattress to switch to. Thanks for any help you can give
A: No I mostly recommend Latex foam mattresses. Latex has a more traditional feel. Your on the Latex and the memory foam you are in it. Memory foam products are very different in the way they feel. In most cases when people try a memory foam product they will instantly know if they like it or not. It is a Yes or no product.

Q: I am 25 and looking for a queen mattress set. I have been sleeping on a full size single mattress (platform bed) for 2 years and like the firmness. I have legg perthes disease (bad hip) and usually have to add an egg crate. What specific mattress should I buy?
A: Go to our web sight and go to wwwbestmattress.net and look up the Renaissance set with a orthopedic foundation. Or the Renaissance with Latex on a orthopedic foundation.

Q: My husband suffers from lower back problem. He weighs 177 lb, height 5'4" and sleep either on his back or his right side. He wakes up every morning tired. When he sleeps at hotels he sleep well as he says the mattresses are firmer. We have a pillowtop mattress and his side of the bed is badly indented from his weight. This is the third mattress we have had in 9 years. The previous two mattresses were flippable. What recommendations would you have regarding a new mattress? Thanks.
A: You need to get a non ipllow top mattress that can be flipped and look for something with good lift and support Like the Hotel beds. It does not have to be hard just good lift.

Q: what will help with the sinking in middle mattress
A: Check to make sure you have a center support. that is an extra leg that is in the middle of the bed that goes from the floor to the bottom of the box spring

Q: I have 2 matresses together measuring 72"x72" & 7" deep, what size fitted sheet should I use to fit both together?
A: Cal King will fit the width but will be to long. You may have to order your sheets on line.

Q: Due to health issues I cannot get to my upstairs bedroom, trying to make a small downstairs bedroom comfortable for my husband and me. I think an Olympic Queen would be the best size for us, have not been able to sleep together for awhile. Do you have this size? Do queen sheets fit them? Are there such things as extra queen headboards? What is the best set up for 50 and older with arthritis and joint problems? Thanks
A: Yes we sell this size it will fit inside a regular queen frame it had a 2 inch bunky board that kicks the bed out 3 inches on each size. Now to order sheets it is custom and you will have to order them on line. The Ultima Tapestry set is pretty nice

Q: My husband weighs around 350 pounds. We are looking at memory foam mattress. Will a 11 inch memory foam mattress support his weight or would we be better to get a 13 or 14 inch memory foam mattress - will it make any differnce. He also has some back problems.
A: In most cases the thinner the mattress the firmer the mattress. The more foam you add to a memory foam mattress the softer it is because you will sink in it more.

Q: What is the best type of king size mattress for us? My husband 6'3' 200 lbs light sleeper wakes everytime I move. I am 5'3 145 lbs and need more room than the queen we have.
A: The foam products have less motion transfer. Just be sure you get something that will give you and him good lift and support. A King bed is a lot of real estate.

Q: Why do you keep saying "no pillow top." What about it will not hold up?
A: When a mattress co. makes a pillow top they sew the top layer up so there is no surface tension and it makes the mattress softer. That is the up side. The down side the cover gets loose and causes a body impression in a very short time. In most cases it will start after 4 -6 years down the road. In a Queen it makes a bowl type of effect and on a king know one sleeps in the middle of the bed so the middle foam is like brand new and where you sleep it gets two ruts on each side. Also in most pillow tops they are not flippable products and that is not a good thing because it only gives you two places to sleep.

Q: my hubby is 5 "6 260 + myself 5"5 210+ we are looking at a super queen optima limited set will this hold up awhile? after a couple of years our innerspring 700 dollars sets are saggy.will this be enough or is the optima low pressure a better longterm choice? we also have to factor in shipping to north florida jax area.
A: Yes Memory foam is call memory foam because it will return to it's original shape. And if you will email me back with you zip code I can get you a freight rate. my email address is bruce@bestmattress.net

Q: My husband and i have tried nearly every kind of mattress and still aren't satisfied. We hate that you can't flip most of them, we've had firm, pillowtop, air. Help. I'm 5'9" and 175 lbs, hubby is 6'1" 240 lbs. They all sag after a yr. We've bought probably 6 in the past 8 yrs
A: You are having the same problem that 99% of our customers say they have with NoFlip single sided mattresses. Find a small high quality custom manufacturer ( like us ) and purchase a 2 sided mattress. There are a few companies out there that still make them but the Big S Brands don't want you to know about them . Call us if you need help . Best Mattress 803-791-0880

Q: my children are 3 and 5 years old and I just bought them new beds and matresses. I find thte foam matresses that I bought to be very hard. what are the best matresses I can buy for their age.
A: Thats a tough call but most experts would say that you do not need extra firm mattresses for small children-- regular firm or a mattress with a firm center and soft top ( NO PILLOW TOPS PLEASE ) should be fine. Ask your retailer if you can return the extra firms --I know it would NOT be a problem at Best Mattress---of course our staff would not have reccomended those in the first place. Good Luck

Q: WHICH MATTRESS IS BEST FOR LOWER BACK AND NECK PAIN ALSO FIBRO MIALGIA PROBLEMS?

Q: Is there any problem with putting an XL 80" Long Twin Size Mattress onto a Regular 75" Long Twin Size Box Spring? Thanks! Sarah My grandson is too tall for a regular twin size mattress, so I'd like to save a never used Regular Twin box spring and put an XL 80" Mattress on it.
A: If you have a head and foot board the twin XL is not going to fit in the opening. Twin XL Box springs are not that costly should runn about $95 on up. Or find someone that is getting rid of a king size set and that will work.

Q: Our Rv has twin beds, each mattress 33"W X 71"L X 8"H We need 2 mattress pads and 2 sets of sheets (1 fitted and 1 flat, each set) and 4 matching pillow cases. Can you provide these and if yes, please send material data, color palette and pricing please. Thanks much

We offer free delivery to Newberry on all sets $ 499 and above provided you are a little patient as our truck only comes to Newberry twice a month or so. If you are in a rush or buy less than $ 399 its based on mileage which I am guessing would be approx $ 55.00

Q: How much is delivery for the Pelion area?
A: It is free delivery to Pelion SC

Q: Do you still have the "Elegance 1000"?
A: Yes we do but there have been some changes to this model. It is a one sided mattress which means you can't flip it over this will effect the durablity. The prices on our web sight is for a nonflip product. We can make it two sided but it razes the price $100.00 more.

Q: Do you still have the "Elegance 1000"? I have been staying with my sister and one is on her guest bed - and I like it!
A: Yes we do still make the Elegance 1000 set but it is a non flip product now. If you want a 2 sided mattress we can make it. but it will raze the cost about $100.00

Q: My husband is a little over 300 pounds. We seem to go through a lot of mattress. We want to buy a bed that has enough support yet comfort that will last us longer than 3 to 6 months. The boards in the box spring seem to break and then our backs seem to hurt. We are in desperate need of help to know what to buy. Thanks!
A: You will need to get a orthopedic foundation that is hevey duty one that is beefed up to take the weight.

Q: I purchased a firm Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress and box springs 11 years ago. Just this past year I've started having problems with my left hip (the one I fall asleep on). Is my mattress all of a sudden too firm? I don't want to buy another mattress if there is something I can put on top to relieve the problem. Thanks for your help!
A: Well you mattress hasn't changed you have. Your body changes every 7 years and in most cases as we all get older we still need the lift and support but we can't lay on those harder mattresses. So you need somthing that will hold your body in a straight line but it will need some extra padding to take the pressure off. The over lays are not the answer. And if your mattress is over 10 years old it is time. And always remmeber no Pillow tops and no one sided mattresses they will not hold up longer that 4 -6 yrs.

Q: My three-year-old son is asking me to get him a "big boy bed." He weighs about 40 lbs. His crib can be converted to a full size bed. I am thinking that I will want to buy him a full size set that is good enough quality to last him through his teen years rather than buy an economy mattress that we would replace in just a few years. Would your Elegance line be a good choice, or would that be too hard? What about using an Elegance mattress with a softer mattress topper?
A: Yes the Elegance will work and the Autograph set is softer. The 1000 model is the best choice for longivty.

Q: I feel that most mattresses manufactured are one sided so the mattress will wear out and form a dip quicker... What do you think? I need a new mattress and am looking for a flipable/2 sided one. Can you help???
A: Yes you are right. And on my web sight 90% of our products are 2 sided and can be flipped. web address is www.bestmattress.net

A: sounds to me like you are having some very sever pressure related problems. Look into some foam products and find one that can give you some great lift and support with out the push of a spring unit.

Q: What can I put between the mattress and the box springs to keep the mattress from sliding around?
A: Our factory uses a non skid filler cloth on the top panel of the box spring but you can use a large beach towel or thin piece of foam( 1/2" or so ). Good Luck

A: We have a 30 day comfort warrnety. Because we are a factory there are acouple of things we can do to make the mattress set firmer or softer without a fee. How ever if we have to change out the padding or cover there is a service fee and a charge for the materials we use. But it is not like buying a mattress that you can't use. Q: I have sciatica back problems that is very bad. What kind of mattress should I buy that would help me the best. PLEASE!! give me so advice I need some relief and I think my bed is some of the problem. I also have lower back pain and Fibro Mialgia. Thank You Alicia
A: Well you are not alone. What I have found out with working with people that have sciatica you can not compermise your lift and support but you can not take the pressure build up that innerspring mattress cause. Even a soft top innerspring is still pushing against your body. You need to look into some memory foam products or Latex products. They do not have any springs in them to push against your body and it is the denscity that holds you up with out the push. And there are differnt densitys that can fit your body weight and height. The memory foam products are warmer but seem to do a real good job for people that have Fibro Mialgia beacue it teins to hold you in place with no pressure build up. Memory foam you ar in it and latex you are on it. For more anwers go to my web sight www.bestmattress.net Good Luck Alicia If you have any other questions please call me 1-803-791-0880 Bruce

A: Latex and Memory foam

Q: My mattress tends to hold heat. Is there something I can put on top of this to avoid the hear
A: Yes you can use a mattress pad that can create some air flow bettew you and the mattress. There several types you may need to talk to a Bed Bath an Beond bedding store. There is a product call Chilla Pilla for pillows and I am not sure if they make a product that works on the mattress itself.

Q: Could you please tell me the difference between a twin & a twin XL? Dimentions? MANY thanks for solving a delima.
A: A twin is 38x75 and a twin xl is 38x80 Call or email us if you have more questions

Q: I am considering a latex mattress. I have had 3 innerspring mattresses in the last month with gave me upper back pain, 2 had soft euro tops and 1 was a stearns & foster plush top. I felt pressure in my shoulder blades with these. I am considering a trizone latex core with 29 ild top and bottom and 33 ild center, 7 in. core. The top and bottom layers are 1 1/2 in. of 17-19ild. comfort layer. Does this sound like a good combo. I am 5'7" and 125 lb. What do you think caused my upper back pain? I have slept on a sealy postuepedic mattress (probably cushion firm) for about 9 yrs. now with no problems. Thanks, Kim
A: Yes you need to go to our web sight and look at the Dual Zone and the triZone latex mattress. I have the upper back issues and these products work well for me. The web sight is www.bestmattress.net

Q: We have a very old full size bed and we bought a new mattress and box spring. Now it is so hard to get into the bed aas it is so high . Can u tell us what to do.If we remove the box spring to make it lower whatshould we put there. Thanks.
A: It's no problem. We manufacture foundations ( box springs) in thicknesses ranging from 3 inch to 12 inches--- you just need a thin foundation. Q: We have a 3 yr old girl and want to buy her a twin bed. What type of mattress should we look for.
A: I would start her out on a firm set because children at that age are growing at such a rapide rate you don't want them sleeping in a soft fluffy bed where their bones and joints are not straight. Also they will grow up likeing firmer beds and if they ever require a firmer bed it will feel good Now I did not say get her a brick just firm and remmeber at that age she is not going to have alot of body weight.

Q: My daughter has chronic back pain (ruptured lumbar disk) and high allergy to dust mites. We need a new twin mattress to place on a flat bed (no box spring needed. What you recommend? She likes memory foam on top. But does that over heat the body? Whats best for allergy suffers?
A: We have a all natureal latex mattress with the orgainic cotton cover and has Jama wool too. go to wwwbestmattress.net and see our all natural line. Latex resits mold mildue and dust mites.

Q: my 75 year old mother has hip bursitis and can never get comfortable on her "hard mattress" what should she be sleeping on?
A: Go to my web sight and look at the Latex and Optima section they are really good for people that need good lift and support but can not take the pressure pionts.

Q: is there a comfortable mattress that you don't have to keep turning?
A: Yes Temperpedic and Latex mattresses

Q: I have been told by a salesman that the 100% latex Englander mattress is the best you can buy and often sells for over $3000 at most stores. Is Englander a better option than the Simmons or Sealy's? Are the bigger name companies charging more because of the name?
A: No Latex is not about the label it is about the kind of Latex. There are 3 difrent types Talaly, Dunlop and all natureal Latex. The best is the talay. It is more durable and has a more consitant feel.

Q: I am not able to get use to the foam layers on new mattresses that leave impressions. My old mattress only had impressions when the springs wore out (many years). Can I get a mattress that I can flip with minimal foam and maybe cotton or fiber padding? It should remain flat throughout the night.
A: Yes we manufacture several two sided models with thinner layers of cushioning that are designed to keep body impressions to bare minimum. The great news is they are modestly priced compared to the national brands overstuffed pillow tops. Call Bruce or Buddy at 803-791-0880 for more info. Remember we ship nationwide

Q: My spouse (5'11" - 160#) is a side sleeper w/Parkinsons so he is more restless than avg. I am also a side sleeper (5'3" - 185#). For the past 10 years we have shared a Qn SelectComfort air system; however, my spouse has complained about it and struggles to turn himself over. I'm concerned he won't be able to get out of a latex/foam mattress. Besides, with insomnia and night sweats I can't imagine being even hotter during the night! What do you recommend? And, what's the closest airport to your location if we wanted to fly in? We're desperately seeking a mattress that will meet our needs so we can sleep again! We need help soon.
A: Yes I personnal devloped a bed and mattress system for the SC Parkinsons Support Group and we are the approved vendor for bedding which is listed on there web sight The web address is www.midnet.sc.edu/parkinsons/products.htm And if wish to talk to me personaly just call me at 1-803-791-0880 9-6 est Bruce K. Q: I need only a queen size box spring My current matress is very firm and I would like a fairly thin box spring. do you have such and what are prices for various quailties.
A: We can make any thickness on a foundation from 2 1/2 inches up to 14 inches in 1/2 inch units. Cost is $199.00 on up. If you are looking for a true box spring with coils you can get a 8 1/2 inch or a low profile which is 5 1/2 inches. Cost is $225.00.

Q: what is the best type of mattress for a 3 year old?
A: Get a firm set because they are growing at such a fast rate. What scares me are these grandma types that want to buy the softest fulffiest mattresses for their little angles and These kids bones will not grow out straight in a nest.

Q: I need a price on a Queen Split Box Spring. (2) units @ 30" X 80" each. I am local and can pick them up.
A: Price for that is $209.00 and can be picked up here at our show room.

Q: I have a 72 x 72 king bed frame built in with end tables... I need a matress to fit ... where can I find this size ... I have some fleibility in the length... Thank You
A: A 72 inch width is a Cal. King but the lenth isnt right an Cal King is 72 W and 84 L. We can build any size so go on line to www.bestmattress.net and pick out the set you like and for about $150 more than a Cal KIng size is listed and we can custom build it for you.

Q: I like a soft mattress and my husband like a hard mattress...we been thinking about a four season spring air mattress or a simmon world class beauty rest...which on do you thing we both weight about 500pds together.
A: If you are planing to get a king size bed we can make one side firmer than the other and it can be done thur the box spring. If not the only thing that will work for you is a air bed where each person can sleep on the firmness level you set. Be careful Spring Air Company just closed down 8 factorys here in the good old USA. That is going to be a problem for people that run into service issues down the road.

Q: My husband weighs 300+ pounds and I weight 200 pounds. What is the best mattress - we want firm. I don't like to "bounce" when he turns over in bed.
A: Look into a 44 ILD Latex core with a Orthopedic foundation and it should elemnated the motion and hold your body up too.

Q: I wake up with sore neck and shoulders I currently have a pillow top mattress and feel it's too soft
A: Rule #1 never buy a pillow top because they can get body impressions in a very short period of time. And always get a mattress that you can flip.

Q: I need twin sheets to fit a matress that is less than 8 inches deep. Help please!!!!!
A: contact Dream World design. Their # is 1-800-955-1322. They do custom bedding

Q: what brand and model of mattress is better for a 17 years old thin female with scoliosis , we live in Miami, so Tempurpedic (memory foam) is not a good idea because it becomes very hot.
A: Yes memory foam can be warmer because you are in it not on it however latex has the same benifits but it is cooler because you are on it not in it and there are no springs it to push against your body but it has good lift and support because it is the density of the product that keeps your spine in line. Sound like a Dr. Suess book but that is how it works

Q: I have a slip disk in my lower back and have shoulders that mildly dislocate in my sleep from rotator cuff problems. I am currently sleeping in a Sterns and Foster, but am looking at a Sleep Number bed. What recommendations do you have for relief of pressure on my shoulders for a side sleeper, but not waking up with a sore, stiff back?
A: The sleep # bed may not be the answer to your pressure related problems. The sleep # beds are for couples that can not come to a compermise meaning that one person wants a very firm mattress and the other person wants a softer surface and still want sleep in the same bed. I would recomend a Latex or a vicso foam mattress. They came be firm with out the push of a innerspring.

Q: what is the best mattress for those with RLS
A: Only Meds with stop you from running all night long but to elemnate the motion you need to look at a vico foam or latex mattress.

Q: I HAVE BACK AND HIP PROBLEMD AND HAVE GONE THRU 3 MATTRESSES IN 1YR.(ALL NON FLIPABLE)I HAVE HAD PILLOW TOPS TO FIRM PLAIN AND I AM MISERABLE AGAIN.ALL WOUND UP WITH BODY DENTS. PLEASE HELP ME. THANK YOU, NEEDS SLEEP
A: Rule # 1 never by a pillow top because they will get body impressions in a very short period of time. And never buy a non flip mattresses they too. will delevope body impressions. If you go to our web sight you will find that 80% of our products are filpable and are not pillow tops. If you suffer from pressure points and need a mattress that will give you good lift and support. I would sujest Latex they come in diffrent frimnest levels too. www.bestmattress.net

Q: We have a latex mattress and it seems to hold heat as my husband and I wake up during the night very hot . We have a platform queen size bed. Thank You
A: You need to get a mattress pad that is about 1/2inch to 1 inch thick with cotten or daycron in it to create a little air flow between you and the mattress and that should do the trick.

Q: I just bought a ultra-firm mattress. The bed is hard as a brick will it get softer. I am starting to get back pain because it has only been a week should I give more time to get used to
A: No you have made the same mistake most people make and picked out a mattress set that is to firm. Most people think they need a hard mattress and that is not the case. You need a mattress set that will give you good lift and support with out the pressure pionts. It all depends on the size of the person the age and the physical condition of that person on how firm ir should be. The larger the preson the more lift you need. The more pressure problems you have the more padding is requiered. and so it goes. Go to wwwbestmattress.net and read the section on how to buy a mattress.

Q: I weigh 250, my husband weighs 300. We like a firm mattress. What would be the best for us? Latex? We have a waterbed frame, so would only need the mattress not the box springs. It has a clearance of 9 inches for the mattress maybe a couple inches more.
A: You need a mattress that is at least 12 inched deep so when you sit on the edge of the bed the wood frame does not pinch your legs. Now you can sit on the edge of your bed now. If you are looking for a Latex mattress get a talalay processed latex in a 44 ILD core. That will be the firmest you can get go to our web sight and see these products. wwwbestmattress.net If you find a mattress that is very comforatble to you but is not 12 inches thick you can use a 2.5 inch bunky board and that will raze the mattress too.

Q: How can I tell if my mattress is flipable? It is 2 years old. Is it time?
A: A flipable mattress has paddiing on both sides so it can be flipped. Mattresses need to be flipped over once every 4 months and spin it every 6 months.

Q: I would like the prices (plus shipping & handling to Granite City, IL) of all of your 3/4 (48x75) size sets.
A: Our 3/4 mattresses are the same price as a regular full size. Go to our web sight and go to Products and prices and select the model you feel best suits your comfort level. www.bestmattress.net I will alos need to know the total combined height of the set needs to finish out at. Mattresses years ago were alot thinner than they are today. Freight to you is $165.00 If you should have any questions please call me at 1-803-791-0880 Thanks Bruce

Q: Our 31 year old son is severely handicapped and has kyphosis scoliosis which is also severe. We want to buy him a new mattress and after researching we are confused as to which kind would be the best for him. Can you give us any suggestions? Thank you!
A: I would look into a Latex mattress they do not have any springs in them to create presure points. And they can give good lift and support. If he is heavey I would look at a 44 ILD core the higher the # the firmer the mattress will be. If he is smaller then a 32 ILD will work. Latex is also anti micobial.

Q: is there a standard mattress and boxspring 37" wide and 80" long
A: The standard Twin Extra Long size is 38 1/2 X 80. Its not a problem for us to make you a 37 x 80 if you prefer. We offer evrything from ultra firm to ultra soft It will increase the cost by $ 75-100 per set however. Please call 803-791-0881 or email us for more information. We do offer shipping if you are not in SC. Good Luck

Q: do they make a mattress that is 44" wide?
A: We can build any size mattress and box springs

Q: what is the recommended coil count for a 3 year old. It's for his first 'big boy' twin bed.
A: Try to stay in the 312, 364 or 660 coil unit. Now that is the coil count on a full size.

Q: I have a king size Temperpedic mattress and would like to raise it higher off of the floor. The mattress itself is 9 1/2 inches and my current box spring is about 8 1/2 inches. I am also using a typical metal bed frame. Would there be anything that you can suggest? Thank you!
A: There are a few things that you can try. Legget and Platt make a taller bed frame. Regular frames are 7 inchers off the floor and the rizer frame is 10 inches off the floor. This can also give you some additional storage under the bed. Or you can purchase a thicker orthopedic foundation which is a wooded base just like Temper Pedic uses now. They come 2 1/2 inches thick or up to 12 inches thick. Or any where in between.

Q: what is the best mattress for a bed with a bedboard. can i get one that doesn't need turning and still get firm support with plush top?
A: I always recomed buying a mattress that can be flipped over. Rotateing a mattress is not punishment. It extendes the life of the mattress. I am not sure what you mean by bedboard. Are you asking me about a Head Board or a othopedic foundation? In ether case a mattress set is not effected by that appication. And as far as comfort levels it sounds like you need a mattress set with good lift and support with some extra padding do not go with a pillow top because they can get boddy impressions.

Q: My king size mattress is sinking in the middle. What is the solution? It is sitting in a medal frame with a detached headboard.
A: How old is the mattress set? And is it a pillow top. You might need to check the box springs too. Take the mattress and put it on the floor and see if the mattress is level. If it is then it is the box spring or the frame that may be bad if the mattress still has a sink in the middle while it is on the floor. It is time to replace the mattress.

Q: My dad is searching for the best mattress for hip pain and arthritis. He is 82.
A: Many seniors have aches and pains associated with skin pressure problems and the loss of muscle tissue etc. We have found that softer surface models such as our Renaissance-- Latex Foam and Optima Memory Foam models offer seniors the support they need with a softer surface that makes them more comfortable. Call us if you need more information or have your dad come in for a test rest.

Q: do any of the better mattress companys make a euro queen size mattress
A: We manufacture our models in any size. Which european size exactly are you referring to ?? Call us 803-791-0881 should you need more information

Q: I've had lower back surgery. I have a California King size bed. What mattress would you suggestz?
A: Thats a very tough question. Most Ortho Doctors and Chiropractors will reccomend a mattress that has firm support with a cushioned top. Something that is classified as a firm--not necessarily extra firm or super firm as that may cause too much skin pressure etc. It depend on your sleeping position --body size and shape etc. A small custom manufacturer like us is better suited to meet your specific needs that a national chain or discount outlet as we can tailor the set to meet your specific requirements . In most cases there is no additional charge. Call us should you need more information and Cal King size is avail in all of our models. Good Luck

Q: We tried a sealy latex springfree matress--it was great for the hip pressure point problem, but it produced too much heat & we had to return it--now it's hip pressure problems again. so what else could you suggest?
A: You should have stayed with the Latex and put a cotton or lambs wool mattress pad. And that would have created some air flow between you and the mattress. And that will cool the mattress off.

Q: We have just purchased two mahogany 3/4 beds, which fit a 48X75 mattress for our new guest room. We do not want to spend too much because they are not going to be used all that much. I know your company can make them. We don't need plush top or thick mattresses because the bed is not real tall. What do you recommend? I'm now having second thoughts about buying the headboards, but it is a done deal I think! Please advise. Thanks!
A: Go to our web sight and look at the Elegance 1000 set. The cost is about $399.00 for the set. Web address is www.bestmattress.net

Q: Have a custom size foam (not memory) mattress made by Best Mattress with a 2 inch foam support underneath the mattress. This is on a 3/4 inch plywood pedestal waterbed base (it's a very/very solid frame). I'd like to remove the 2in foam (underneath) and add a memory foam topper (at least 3in or more, 4inch would be better). The topper would need to be cut 70 inch wide by 83 inch long to fit over the existing foam mattress. Can you send me some prices for this topper size in various weights and thickness. Mike Montebello
A: Sure we can add a 3 inch vico faom topper to your foam mattress. If we use your cover the cost is $450.00 if you need a new cover we will charge you $150.00 extra. And delivery depends on your location.

Q: I have had a vertebrae removed and some vertebrae fused together. I'm shopping for a new bed and have bought a Sealy Aqua 3...I felt under pressure to buy. I got a plush and it hasn't been delivered yet and I'm wondering if i should switch it to a firm. Which would be better for my back? I can't really tell a difference when I'm lying on them. thanks
A: Because of your back issues you need to buy a mattress from a factory direct that makes mattresses on sight. The reason is that if the mattress is to firm or to soft they can change out the padding or swap out the box spring. Now that service is not free but it isn't like you have to sleep on something that will not work for you. If you buy a major name brand mattress form a mattress store you can only get what they offer and that is it. If they swap the mattress out for you for another model how do you know your not getting someone elses used mattress. Mattresses are like tooth brushes. Once used always used.

Q: When purchasing a new mattress, is the warranty voided if the boxspring is not purchased with the mattress?
A: It depends on the manufacturer. Most major national brands do require the box spring to purchased at the same time or the warranty is voided---at Best Mattress we do allow another box spring to be used if our delivery crew inspects it and it is in excellent condition. Good Luck

Q: We paid over $2000 for the "best" no-flip matress and HATE IT! After a only a year, the bed is getting permanent body indentations, but not enough for a warranty claim. If we could only flip it, the problem would be solved. We can't find the old proven flipable matress. Do you know of anyone making a quality flipable matress like the good hotels that a "civilian" can buy? Thanks!
A: No Flip mattresses are one of the worst ideas the large national mattress companies have ever come up with .Thank goodness our small mattress factory still manufactures 2 sided handcrafted models ranging in price from $ 599-- 1825 in queen. 2 sided beds are much more resistant to body impressions and we believe more comfortable. Call our Factory/Showroom at 803-791-0881 or of course go to our site bestmattress.net

Q: My husband and I are both stomach sleepers; however, I have severe scoliosis with a top and bottom curve. Our current pillow-top mattress is sinking in the middle and I wake up with severe lower back pain every single day, but he does not. I am 5' 130 lbs. He has absolutely told me he would sacrifice the comfort of the pillow-top to lessen my pain. What type of mattress would you recommend? I have heard that the foam matresses can be very hot, and we live in Texas. Thanks so much in advance!
A: Well first because you sleep on your stomach you are going to have to sleep on something firmer than a Pillow Top however you do not need to sleep on a brick. Rule #1 do not buy a pillow top because the cover can get loose and create a bowl type of effect. And that is what hurting your back. As far as foam mattresses some are warmer than others. Visco Foam products are warmer because they mold to you body and you are in it not on it. Latex on the other hand is cooler because you can use a mattress pad and you are on it not in it. You may need to try a 44 ILD Latex Mattress on a foundation. $$ IlD is the firmess core they make and the foundation does not have Springs in It. This should give you the lift and support you need however has no pressure points.

Q: I am 6'3" and 250 lbs, my wife is 5'7" and 130. The side of the bed I sleep on has a big dip in it compared to my wifes side. We are in the market for a new mattress and I am interested in a latex mattress - can they handle my weight and not have a "dip" on my side of the bed?
A: The answer is yes, one of our latex Mattress Sets will have no problem supporting your weight. We find many of our couples of different weights love how the latex supports them equally. I do want to warn you however that any mattress ( even Latex Models ) will develop A slight body impression ( about 3/4" ) over time

Q: looking for a 52 x 72 replacement sofa mattress
A: We can make any size mattress.

Q: My husband is over 350 pounds and I am over 250. He moves around a lot and has lower back pain I have painful mid-back, hips, rotator cuffs and knees and need relief from pressure points and his movements. Recommend what king mattress?
A: You need a 44 ILD Latex set it will stop the motion transfer and will give the lift and support you need and has no springs in it that cause the pressure points. Our Optima firm will also work well for you. Go to your web sight and see these products there and the prices are listed too. www.bestmattress.net

Q: We've had our innerspring mattress for a little over 10 years. I have some lower back pain and seem to wake up in the morning a little stiff and sore. My husband does have some allergy problems. Is it time for a new mattress and what kind would you recommend?
A: Yes it is time to replace both your mattress and box spring. 10 years is about the normal life. Look are the Latex mattresses they are good for people that suffer from allergies.

Q: My husband and I are looking to purchase a mattress and box springs for our 2 year old daughter. First and foremost we are interested in a great quality mattress. Secondly, we are interested in the purchase being cost effective. What is the best mattress for a relatively low cost...best bang for your buck?
A: In our product line it would be the Ultima set. It had 660 coil unit and it is flippable and has a 10 year warranty. Twin price is $399.00 for the set. Our web sight is www.bestmattress.net

Q: We live in our RV, and need a mattress that has a depth of no more than 7 inches. My husband is comfortable on just about anything, but I have large hips and experience frequent back / and or hip pain. We've tried the sleep number bed with no success, it provided the worst sleep I've ever experienced. Currently, we are sleeping on 4" high density foam with a 2" memory foam. While the quality of sleep is good, my back suffers greatly. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you very much for your time.
A: You are in luck as one of our most comfortable mattresses for people with hip/back pain is a latex foam mattress which we can mfg in a 7 -7 1/2" thickness. Its avail in 3 different firmnesses and you can view much information about it on our site www.bestmattress.net. It is not inexpensive but my hip/back pain clients have given it rave reviews for many years. In a limited thickness environment ( 7"or so ) its by far the best choice. We can mfg a traditional innerspring mattress in 7 1/2 " thickness ---its 1/3 the price of the latex but pales in a comfort comparison test vs the latex. Call us for more information and we can walk you thru the 3 models. Good Luck www.bestmattress.net

Q: I am 140 lbs. Husband is 185 lbs. We both have hip problems - arthritis in them - and I can't get comfortable at all. I'm in constant pain in bed. I wake every hour. What is the best mattress for us? Help!
A: Dear Help. You need to get a mattress that will provide the right level of lift and support but has less pressure pionts. All of the innerspring mattresses have the push of the spring unit that can cause hip problems. I would recomend a all foam product like Latex or a visco foam product. Key words all foam no springs. Both of these products come in diffrent densitys and can be ajusted to you height and body weight. If I were to guess a 34 ILD latex or a 5 lb. visco foam should be close. Go one line at www.bestmattress.net and look up Latex and Optima and read details.

Q: where is your showroom
A: Same location for 80 years 713 Meeting Street W. Columbia S.C. 29169

Q: could you make a size 74"x64" mattress and box springs?
A: Yes we can make this size in any of our 18 models. Call 801-791-0881 or email us back for a quote on a specific model--you may want to call and have us walk you thru the different models. We also can ship anywhere in the US. Good Luck

Q: which matress is better for a bad back, i have arthritis in my lower back,i also have a rotator cuf problem is a firm cushion or a firm pillowtop better? i'm looking at the angelique simmons firm cushion and firm pillowtop thank you
A: We are not big fans of pillowtop mattresses as they are much more prone to have significant body impressions. That being said you need to find the firmness level that helps your back problem. Try an extended test rest of 20 min or more in the showroom to make sure or better yet find a small factory direct mattress producer like Best Mattress to custom make one just for you. Good Luck

Q: I weigh about 300 pounds and looking to buy a temperpedic - Will this mattress hold up?
A: Yes but you need to get a full size bed or larger.

Q: My husband and I have a queen size bed and have been wanting to get a king size mattress set. Is there anyway we can still use our queen size headboard?
A: A King size mattress is 78 inches wide and your Queen head board is probliy 64 to 66 inches wide wood to wood. Your mattress will hang over on each side 6 to 8 inches beyound the head board. That would look like wings on a air plane.

Q: i am a right side sleeper and when i wake up in the morning my hip is killing me what kind of mattress can you suggest to releive the pain?
A: Look into a all foam product Latex or visco foam. Good lift and support with out the push. And remmeber they come in diffrent frimness levels too to fit you body weight and shape.

Q: I have pains in my lower back to hip area and also in my shoulders. What kind of mattress is best for me
A: Look into a Latex mattress or a visco foam product. Both have great lift and support wiht no pressure points. These products come in diffrent frimness levels so there are options insde these products.

Q: Can you build an organic mattress with no flame retardant or pesticides?
A: Yes but you will need a Letter or some type of documentation stating that you need this product due to health reasons. This letter has to be from a licened Medical Dr. All mattresses sold here in the USA have to be 1633 FR complant which is a federal requirment. The requirment is that All mattresses sold have to open flame tested and pass the test 3 times.

Q: Can I use my current box spring (from a coil mattress) to use with a memory foam mattress?
A: Yes and No. Some memory foam manufactors will not warranty their product if you use your old box spring. The reason for that is it will change the way the product feels and if the spring unit in the box spring is bent it can cause the mattress fail or get a sag in it. Now if you have a orthopedic foundation which is a platform that has no springs in it at all you can use the old one and it will not hurt the Mattress or change the way it feels. If the orthopedic foundation makes noise then you should replace the foundation too.

Q: What is the best mattress for a side sleeper with bad bursitis of the hips
A: allways remmber to pick out a mattress that has good lift and support without the pressure points. Stay away from pillow tops and non flip innerspring products. What determins lift and support can vary from person to person due to the size, height, age, and the physical condition. Latex is a good product for this because it comes in diffrent firmness levels andhas no push

Q: Looking for tempurpedic or latex, how do I know that you are legitamate, and will I get what I pay fore? I have lowq back pain, restless leg syndrome, and achy all the time. Please advise honestly.
A: Well Temper Pedic Mattresses are made in Lexington Ky. And they offer a 90 day comfort warranty. If you get the product and it is not what you need you can return it and get a refund. Whoever: you have to pay the shipping fee which is about $200.00. Visco Foam molds to your body and will fill in all the gaps. But they are warmer because you are in this product not on it. Latex works the same way but if conturs to the body. You are on it not in it therfore it is a cooler product. Both are good for people that suffer from Pressure related problems. HONESTLY

Q: I NEED A 7 TO 8 INCH THICK MATRESS FOR MY 12YR SON GOES ON A CAPTAIN BED-FULL WHAT DO YOU RECOMEND
A: The only thing that will work is a soild foam mattress.

Q: Do you know of any matress manufacturer that still makes a true flipable, rotatable mattress? My husband and I have had a very bad experience with a pillow top mattress and want to return to the old fashioned type of mattress. Thank you!
A: Yes we do! 90 % of our mattresses are flipable. Which means they have the same padding on each side. A flipable mattress has 2 X the padding and will last longer.

Q: Hi: Please help! Wanting to buy a new mattress for my 3 year old grandson. He has a car bed,so it just needs the mattress ,dont need the foundation. What would be a good mattress that is comfortable and good for is spine and that he will get a good night sleep.Thank You!
A: If I were you I would look for a non pillow top two sided traditional construction innerspring mattress with a medium firm support level. Expect to pay $349--$699 for a twin mattress. Good Luck

Q: I have an Antique slat bed which a used Full mattress I bough doesn't fit. I measure the mattress area of the bed frame as 76 x 52. Is this a 3/4 bed? If so, are these hard to find?
A: No a 3/4 mattress set measures 48 X 75 or 48 X 72. Sounds to me like you have a real antique size or as we referr to as a odd size. Old hand made beds were made for the person that slept in the bed or were sized for the room it went in. But all is not lost we can build any size mattress set and in any firmness level. But when picking out a set be sure to measure the disired thickness of mattress and box spring because mattresses are alot thicker today than what they were 20 years ago. We can make box springs thinner to get the right height.

Q: I've always had a firm mattress and have been happy with that. I am now shopping for a new mattress and the plush versions SEEM more comfortable in the showroom. Do the plush models hold their shape? I tend to sleep on my side or my stomach, if that makes a difference. Thank you
A: There are two main points you raise. Yes we have found that for a majority of our customers the plusher softer surface beds are more comfortable. The thicker and softer the surface however does increase the chance for a deeper body impression in the surface layer. This is not a defect but it is something you need to be aware of before purchasing. The greater comfort of the plusher beds is worth for most people the slight body impression. Good Luck

Q: My husband is 5'8" and weighs over 300 pounds. I am 5'5" and weigh 150. We don't toss and turn a lot, but have a big problem with mattresses breaking down on his side. He has a bad back and I have arthritis. We're in our 50's.
A: We have the ability to reinforce the perimeter of your new mattress to help reduce or eliminate the side support issues you are having. The added cost of only $ 99.00 is well worth it in my opinion. Most of the national brands may not have an edge that is as sturdy as you require. Please contact us if we can help.

Q: I have severe acid reflux and can only sleep in an upright position. I'm having to sleep in a recliner while my wife continues to sleep in our bed. What suggestions would you have for our situation.
A: We sell an adjustable bed that raizes and lower the head. They come in a split queen or a dual king size where you can razes your side and her side can remain flat. We also make 27 diffrent firmness level mattresses that will fold. And in the morning when you wake the bed can be lowered to look just like a regular bed. We can also use your head and foot board so you do not have any additional expence. go to our web sight and look under adjustalbe beds. www.bestmattress.net

Q: I have a king-size bed with a king-size box spring. I would like to use two twin-size mattresses, but I need a 5" extender to fit at the top or bottom of the bed to have the twin mattresses meet the head of the bed frame. What do you suggest?
A: A kng size box spring is a twin XL which is 5 inches longer than a twin. You can get twin XL mattresses they are used in univercity dorm rooms. And they just do not make a mattress strecher or a extender yet.

Q: what type of mattress do you think would be best for me? I am a side sleeper that has bursitis and rotator cuff problems...I wake up every few hours with shoulder pain...extreme in the mornings...I bought a Restonic mattress for about 700 dollars 3 years ago...and I need a new mattress. Thank you Albert Ramirez
A: Check out a 36 ILD Latex mattress if you a small to med built person or a 40-44 ILD latex mattress if you are large person. Both have great lift and support with out the push of a innerspring.

Q: is a custom size 76 x 76 available for your mattress
A: Yes we can mfg that size in any of our models. Call or email if you need a quote

Q: Is the Stearns & Foster "Grenoble" mattress considered firm, and what is the difference in firm and firm plush? I recently purchased a queen Sealy posturepedic from Sleep America, was told that it was a firm mattress, the first night my husband who is 5'6" and weighs 135lbs found it too soft. Rather than going through an exchange and all the drama associated with it, we gave the mattress to our daughter. We still have our Stearns and Foster Rose Dream,my husband has complained for two years that it is also, too soft. I want a mattress that can be flipped and rotated. Now I am told that they are no longer being manufactured; is this true? Back to the initial question;what is your opinion of the "Grenoble"? Thanking you in advance. have a great day. CK in Phoenix.
A: It very hard to shop labels of any of the national brands. One Store can call this product an imperail and the next store can have the label of the national and it is the same mattress. The term frim and plush are over used. What people need to seek in a mattress is good lift and support with out the pressure points. And that can very from person to person due to height, body weight, the age of the person and the physcal condition of that person. A heavy person will seek a firmer mattress and so it goes. Yes all of our models are flipable and they do last longer when you rotate and fip your mattress. Just like tires on a car.

Q: Would you know where I can find sheet sets to fit a 3/4 bed? I live in a smaller town and not sure where to find them at. I would prefer pima cotton sheets if you know a place that sells them. Can be from online as well, just so I know where to get them in the future. Thank you, missie
A: You can find the sheets at Dream Word Design. They make custom sheets. Dreamworlddesign.com. Good Luck

Q: Hi, Is there any reason not to use a spring mattress and on a bed base with slats?
A: No but your bed will be on the firm side.

Q: I have a sofa bed pull out mattress and its hard for me to pull it out directions please
A: The mattress needs to be 4 inches thick pull up and out. and it should pop rith out. If not look for a triger that will release it. That shoud be by the handel or on the side.

Q: I have two herniated disks and a torn rotator cuff which schiffman mattress would be the most comfortable for me. I am 5'3" and weigh 115. My husband is 5'8" and weighs 210. I am thinking of a Schiffman mattress.
A: I am not familar wirh the Schiffman mattress brand nor Company but you heed to look into a visco faom mattress. They are very good for pressure related areas like a torn totator cuff problem. Be sure to get one with a 5 -6 lb. The higher the Lb. age the softer the mattress.

Q: I have restless leg syndrone. I do want support, but my lower back likes comfort. What is the best mattress for me? It's Christmas and I don't want to spend an arm and a leg either.
A: You need a 44 ILD Latex mattress with a soft top. This will get rid of the motion you are makeing and give you great upport with out the push.

Q: which mattress is good for lower back pains and fibro mialgia? I have pains all over from head to toe
A: Latex mattresses do well and so does Visco foam mattresses becuse they do not have the push of a spring unit to create pressur points but give you great lift and support.

Q: I have had my queesn size bed for about five years and now it feels like it is sinking towards the middle. my boyfriend calls it the bowl bed. i thought beds were meant to last longer than five years. it is a sely posturpedic peacetime plsuh, which i thought was a good bran. so is there anything i can do to correct this or do i need to purchase a new mattress?
A: You and Thousands of other people are in the same Bowl. Just remember price does not dictate quality in a mattress nore does a major name brand. Stay away form pillow tops and non flip mattresses becaue they will get body impressions in a very short period of time. And aways try to buy from a factory direct where they make the mattresses on sight becuse they can service anything you purchse and can custom build you r mattress for your size, age, and your back needs.

Q: I have a new Sealy Springfree latex mattress. I am having lower back pain that I never had before. Two problems also is that my husband weighs more than I do and causes me to be on a slope and the floor of my apt. is also sloped. I was wondering is it the mattress itself or the other issues and how to fix the problem. One other thing is the box spring is from our original pillowtop bed that was 2 years old and we replaced. Would replacing the boxspring made for my mattress help, because Sealy said it wasn't necessary. Thanks very much, Holly Weiss
A: Wow sounds like gravity is really working against you. As far as the floor not being level that could cause rollage. But both you and your husbane would feel that. It sounds to me like a box spring issue. If your box spring has springs in it and it flexes. You can get rollage that way. you may want to put a peice of plywood between your mattress and the box spring and see if that workes and if it does then you need a orth. foundation. See by using your old box spring it maybe bent and can cause a sink hole type of effect.

Q: I am a side sleeper with fibro and arthritis in my hips - I toss and turn all night on my tempurpedic. What mattress would let me sleep???!!!
A: Temper Pedic makes several diffrent firmness levels You may need a softer version. We make our own which is very soft and still gives great lift and support. Is the Optima sleep system. Check it out.

Q: I'm moving and just found out that my queen size box springs probably won't fit into the bedroom on the second floor. Can I get two twin size box springs, or do I have to cut mine and then hope that when we put it back together it lays flat?
A: This is a common problem. The solution is to order a split queen Box Spring which is 2 30 X 80 box springs. And The second solution is to order a folding box spring. These special units run about $225 to $275 for the pair.

Q: i need to replace my sofa bed mattress, please tell me what's best the foam or the coils? and the thickness. thank you very much, appreciate your help
A: A sleeper sofa mattress can only be 4 inches in thickness so it can fold up and slip into the seat of the sofa. foam vs springs is just a personal feel. The thing you have to understand about sleeper sofas are you arn't suposs to sleep on them full time it is just for over flow for guest. Or that unwanted guest.

Q: we like the sandlapper by serta. do you have anything compatible to that? & what is the price for a King?
A: I am sorry but I do not have any information on that model. If you can obtain the specifications please send them to me and I will get back to you. Good Luck

Q: Both my husband and I have had disc fusion in our necks as well as lower back pain. We also are looking for a bed that we are not able to feel eachother moving. I have a very hard time getting a great night sleep. what would you suggest?
A: I would suggest coming by our showroom to test rest one of our 9 different foam mattress and foundation sets. We also manufacture traditional innerspring sets as well but they do not offer the degree of motion separation that our line of foam beds do. We mfg both Latex and Memory foam sets in a wide range of comfort levels and price ranges. We also offer TempurPedic Sweedish Foam models and our new Optima Air numbered Air Supported bed. Our small custom factory offeres a 30 day comfort warranty as well. Call Bruce or Buddy if you need more information ---I think we can help solve some of issues with back pain as well.

Q: What price range do you recommend for a single mattress for a college student? She is like the "Princess and the pea" but is on a limited budget.
A: You will need to spend no less than $ 199 and possibly as much as $ 399 depending of course on her comfort level requirements. She will need to do a test rest

Q: we just bought a mattress this week and appreciate your quick service but the mattress feels too hard to me now is there any thing we can do? Curtis Amick 618 Moss Creek Cayce

Q: My husband turns over frequently and the mattress bounces me around - I hate it. Suggestions ???
A: Any innerspring mattress will have some motion transfer. You and your husband should try any of the Tempur Pedic and Latex ( my favorite ) foam mattress and foundation. There is almost zero partner disturbance. Call us at 803-791-0881 if you need more help. Good Luck

Q: I have a full size mattress that is too firm for me. Would buying a pillow top fix this? Or should I buy a whole new mattress? Isn't a pillow top mattress just a firm mattress with some extra padding?
A: It depends on your level of discomfort. If your current mattress is just a little too firm then a topper or an overlay may work. However if its way too firm you need to change to a softer more body conforming bed. Call us if you need help

A: All King and California King sets have 2 box spring so the delivery people can get it in your home. HOWEVER, the mattress is all one peice. The regular king mattresses is 75 X 80 and the regular box springs are 2-37.5 X 80's the Cal. king mattress is 72 X 84 and the box springs are 2- 36 X 84's. Regular twins are 38 X 75 and they would be to short.

Q: I know sleeping on your stomach is a no-no, but I cannot sleep any other way. Because of this I have a great deal of pain in my lower back when I wake up in the morning. I have tried a soft mattress as well as a firm mattress and both seem to have the same effect (pain). Any recommendations for stomach sleepers?
A: Oh yes you stomach sleepers always require a firmer surface due to the sway in the back. The firmness can vary from person to person due to body weight and where that weight is on that person. Meaning that 250 lb. 5 foot person will have more body mass than a 250 lb 6 foot 5 inch person. So the shorter person would perfer the frimer mattress. You may need to see about you back and find out if there is something medical going on in there and get an excerzise program gong on.

Q: Upon delivery, do you also remove and dispose of the unwanted mattress and box springs?
A: Yes, we always offer Free removal of old bedding. Free delivery also in the Columbia area. Call us if you have any questions

Q: I have severe lower back pain and hip issues. I bought a high quality firm mattress a year ago and I think a I can find a mattress better suited for my condition. I always wake up quite stiff and in pain. I have heard good things about temperpedic models. What do you think? By the way, I'm a 20 year old college athlete.
A: This sounds like a clssic case of someone buying a mattress that is TOO FIRM for their particular body shape /size. As a well conditioned young athelete there is no way you should be waking up that stiff and sore. You must be developing severe pressure points during the night which cause you soreness in the am. Tempur Pedic ( they make 6 diff models ) is a wonderful pressure reduction mattress but is by no means the only one I would reccomend you test rest. You should also try a Latex Foam body conforming mattress ( we mfg 3 diff models ) and possibly our Optima. You need to go softer --Try to find a store ( like us ) that will give you a 30 day comfort warranty so if its not the correct firmness you can exchange it. Good Luck

Q: My wife and I are looking into purchasing a king size bed. What are the average dimensions of a king mattress?
A: Traditional King Size 76 Wide 80 Long California King 72 Wide 84 Long Good Luck

Q: Hello, I am in the market to buy a full-size mattress for my daughter to grow with. She is 4.5 years old, and I am hoping to find a mattress that will suit her needs through her teen years. In terms of sleep habits, I believe she sleeps pretty equally on her stomach, side, and back. Can you please recommend something that is good quality, but isn't a "Rolls Royce" for a child? I'd ideall like something that is fairly well insulated in terms of allergens (not for her, but I anticipate buying another mattress for my son who has allergies in the near future). If the allergy issue bumps up the price, then I'd love two different options to consider. Thank you! Diane
A: Dianne, Thanks for the question. I think for your daughters age I would reccomend a mid level firmness as at her weight she does not need an extra firm or ultra soft model. Our Ultima ( $ 519 ) and Ultima Tapestry ( $749 ) models offer Top of the Line Quality at mid level pricing. Both have fabrics that offer some level of allergy/dust mite protection but we would suggest an allergy /dust mite protective cover for optimal protection. Call ( 803-791-0881 ) or email for more information. Thanks Buddy from Best Mattress

Q: What is the best mattress on the market today. We don't know anything about what is on the market, how to choose one and what to look for. What does Consumer Reports say?
A: This is almost like answering the " Meaning of Life Question " There is a lot to cover here. First--there is no best mattress on the market for everyone. We are all different and have different needs. You absolutely need to test rest a dozen or so different models to find the perfect comfort level. You also need to find someone who ( like us ) will help you thru the process of selection and not just try a brow beat you with "Truckload Sale etc sales tactics. Cons. Reports said that the most expensive models were not always the best and name brands meant very little. Call or stop by to see us if you have questions. Good Luck

Q: Do you have 3" queen foam toppers?
A: We have 1" and 1 1'4 in stock but can order a 2 " pc custom for you if you wish. We also offer Latex and Visco foam

Q: My husband likes the Shiffman machine made pillow top for $1800 at Bloomingdales. I had never heard of Shiffman. Also they make a $19,000 mattress! I would like to lie down on the $19,000 one to see if it felt any different than their $2900 one. Also is the type of coil and count important? If so what do I look for? So what do you think of this company? Are they as good as Stearns&Foster or Sealy?
A: Shiffman has a wonderful reputation and I believe the quality to be slightly higher than the two S Brands you mentioned. The coil count in my opinion is not as important as the padding structure in regards to overall mattress quality. Is it woth $ 19,000---- Only if it makes you more comfortable. You need to Test Rest both models Good Luck Buddy from Best Mattress

Q: In shopping for a mattress I'm being told of a LFK unit and a Lura Flex unit - whats the difference if any
A: They are the same innerspring unit---Made by Leggett & Platt . Its a high quality unit.

Q: I am in the market for a new mattress, my husband has wrestless leg syndrome and fibro myalgia which type would help him get a better rest?
A: The body conforming pressure relieving models such as our Latex Foam-- Tempur Pedic and Optima Memory Foam models. Here is why. The pressure relieving properties of these models should help with RLS and FM with the added benefit of transferring almost no motion to your side of the bed. Please consult with your physician or if you would like we can refer you to Sleep Med who operates Sleep Lab's in many cities in the southeast. Their Doctors are some of the leading experts in FM and RLS. Please let us know if we can help

Q: Do you carry a queen size sleeper sofa mattress? We have a laz-y-boy sofa and we need a mattress.
A: Yes we manufacture a queen size ( 59 x 71 ) in several models with prices starting at $ 169.00. Please call the factory / showroom @ 791-0881 for more information

Q: what is a Lura Flex Spring Unit in mattresses? Is it a good quality? Better than Bonnell?
A: The Lura Flex spring system is a much newer technology spring system than the Bonnell which was invented in the late 1800's. It uses a smaller diameter wire with a much higer coil count in order to conform more easily to a persons body shape and yet give even firm support.Come in for a test rest soon.

Q: What is a Centurion Mattress? Is this a brand or a type of mattress?
A: Centurion may be a model name as I am not familar with the name brand Centurion. Please email me more information. Thanks

Q: We have an antique bed that doesn't seem to be equal on all sides and I don't think a standard size mattress would fit. Can you offer any suggestions?
A: No problem as we make any of our 22 models in sizes that will fit your antique bed. If you are in Columbia at no cost we can have one of our staff stop by to measure your bed to determine the proper fit and discuss options with you. Let us know as it takes 7-14 days to produce a custom set. Good Luck

Q: I would like to know more about the new Tempurpedic Space Foam mattresses and pillows. Do you have all models in your showroom?
A: Yes we were Columbia's first Tempur Pedic dealer 9 years ago and we have 5 of there models on our showroom floor. We also manufacture 2 memory foam body conforming models ( see the Optima models on our site ) which are very popular with our customers. We also have the 3 Latex Foam mattress sets which I personaly sleep on and find to be best for my body-- We want you to stop by and test rest those as well. We will help you find the model that is right for you. See you soon

Q: What is the best mattress for a bad back? Firm? Soft? I have no idea. I'm looking for my husband who suffers from chronic lower back pain.
A: Very tough question to answer until we get more information such as-- Does he sleep on his back or side and is he an average size gentleman ? Most orthopedic doctors would say that a mattress with firm center support and a softer layer of cushioning on the surface would be advised. We would reccomend that he stop by our factory/showroom for a test rest so we can see which models keep his back in proper spinal alaignment which the doctors say is very important. Good Luck

Q: How long should a quality mattress suppose to last?
A: 8-10 years is considered the average useful life of a mattress set. Our bodies change so much over a 10 year period that even if the mattress still has support your body may need more or less firmness/support than it did 10 years ago. Call or email us if you need more information
