The BMC MODEL 9000 HOSPITAL MATTRESS is superior in performance and durability to any hospital mattress made by anyone. The heart of this unit is our exclusive offset spring unit. The spring is different from conventional bonnell spring units in that the coils are not tied together instead they pivot on hinges so that each coil responds individually to body weight. Each completed spring unit is heat treated after assembly to tighten unit and eliminate noise. The padding and upholstery assembly is the same as the MODEL 2000 specs listed. The completed mattress meets or exceeds federal flammability standard FF4-72. Each mattress has BECHIK model 4MF hospital evacuation handles which are securely attached to the spring unit itself.

Best Mattress ORTHO-HOSPITAL MODEL TWO THOUSAND contains a 225 (312 coil in full size) 13 gauge bonnell interspring unit beat treated after assembly to tighten unit and eliminate noise. A flex-o-lator insulating grid is placed over the center one third of the coils. Each side of the unit is covered with a heavy-duty needled synthetic fiber pad, which weighs two ounces per square foot. A 1" layer of 1.8 density 45 pound compressed high-density polyurethane foam is placed over the pad. An extra posture pad is placed in the center of the unit for extra support. All upholstery materials are wrapped over the sides of the spring unit and securely fastened. The ticking is attached by hog ringing a five-inch flanging material to the border coils. Each mattress shall have four BECHIK model 4MF hospital evacuation handles, which are securely attached to the spring unit. The hospital ticking is made of a 10 _ ounce poly-vinyl chloride laminated fabric meeting rigid requirements for hospital use.

Each side of the spring unit is wrapped with a heavy-duty needled synthetic fiber pad, which weighs two ounces per square foot. Over the fiber pad is placed a 1" layer of 1.4 density polyurethane foam. The upholstery and covering is attached by hog ringing the flange of the cover to the border coils. The hospital ticking is made of an 8-ounce poly-vinyl chloride laminated fabric meeting requirements for hospital use. The completed mattress meets the federal flammability standard DOC-FF4-7s and can be made to conform to California 117 Flammability Code.
